albums and recordings
Most of my solo recordings are recorded on, and distilled from, times and places such as new moons, pilgrimage walks, ancient sites. Listening and playing, I gather sounds like medicine bundles.

fire horse
Heralding the fire horse on the new moon, the lunar new year. This album was recorded as a sound ritual on the evening of 17th February 2026. Sonic material from this event has been distilled into this work.
Out soon on subvert!!
Out soon on subvert!!

perihelion
A spell, a ritual, an improvisation to the setting sun on its closest day to Earth (paradoxically in the depth of the northern hemisphere’s midwinter).
Playing to golden light with my favourite electronic companions. I lost myself for an hour or so in an aionic flow space, an unfolding present time of deep-listen, deep-play.
Somehow these 5 sound journeys carry glorious winter light and every time I listen, it feels like medicine.
Side A. perihelion i & ii
Side B perihelion iii, iv, v
running time 45 minutes
Currently available on @cassette tape or by request or on @Mp3/WAV
Not available to those with spotify accounts

dr arculus reads 'a thousand plateaus'
I made a talking book!! My favourite parts of Deleuze and Guattari's 'a thousand plateaus'. Excerpts from 'Of the refrain' and 'becoming animal'. I recorded it digitally then placed it onto cassette tape using a vintage tascam. I discovered the 4 track enabled me to play the b side backwards along with the a side (and vice versa) so I recorded that digitally and placed the backwards-forwards versions onto a new cassette. and...and...and...

threescore winters
My sixtieth Winter. On the coast of Norfolk.
I composed these three pieces through field recording as a ritual act, gazing over the lost realm of Doggerland, radio scrying, gleaning, summoning gulls by blowing conches from another eastern shore. Paying close attention to the precise time of turns around the sun. Time and place.
Making sound worlds from time and place honouring the parameters of the process.

Buttons
Buttons is a collection of little sound worlds, a series of sonic topographies, each with its own flavour, movement and feeling.
You are invited to travel through these landscapes as a voyage. A Sound Trek.
The collection was composed especially for audio-visual technology to be activated by babies and toddlers using soft buttons.
Each track is distinct yet related to the others and each track begins with a clear percussive sound which can be repeatedly played as an instrument.

in frequencies
This small collection is formed from sonic frequencies that have become perceptible to human ears through technological listening devices and gadgets that reveal the secret sounds of everyday realms.
glitchy bat mix and DÉRIVE are the results of walking and listening journeys through familiar places where sonic material has been foraged, assembled and reworked via bat detectors and electromagnetic sensors. radioNormal was made by feeling around world via short-wave radio tentacles.
baRdo summons a particular time and place through a device that listens to light.
The tracks have been assembled through playful, aleatoric and divinatory processes of scrying, imbricating, distilling and atomising sound. They were made at different times, but they seem to belong together. I repurpose the textural qualities of these works in my live and improvised work and my compositions. They are on-goingly re-encountered and remade. Nothing is wasted - or finished.

soundlines for doggerland
soundlines for doggerland
A specially created, live composition made for a cultural exchange from the East to the South, a collaboration between eastern ear and the lost property collective & the ecomusicology project in Brighton. The piece is a sonic ritual involving the sounding of cultural artefacts including: flints; field recordings of rooks and jackdaws in dual-species murmuration under their ancestral Norfolk sky realms; an ear-like conch from other eastern shores that blows a (kind of) E for east as it remembers its fingery-eyed mollusc maker; imagined doggerland yowling tamed through electronic jiggery pokery: harmonically distorted ritual bowls as used in east anglian tribal gatherings; beats made from sounded ice sheet on a Norwich model boating lake; A circular poem from a medieval painting in Wickhampton Church recoded into musical notes, a spell of animacy between land and water, life and death:
"as you are now, so once were we
as we are now so shall you be"
