audiovisual
I improvise films on VJ software and apps and record them. I create them in a similar way to the way I make music: loops, rhythms, intensities, manipulated and played with in present time.
The film clips are gathered by me as field recordings on my phone. I only use clips I have filmed from places I have stood in.

BEACHed Trio (improvised) film
My visual response to Chris Dowding's BEACHed Trio EP. This film is made from field-clips of the Norfolk coast gathered while walking, listening, witnessing and live mixed (improvised) on the afternoon of 12th May 2026.
This sublimely beautiful music is called 'Walcott / Hunstanton' and was recorded on 23rd November 2024 by Anton Hunter at Jazz in the Round at The Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone, as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Mixed & mastered by Anton Hunter.

equinox pilgrimage 2026
A pilgrimage of listening, ritual and field recording. the old places, the edgelands, the liminal spaces. Medieval and Neolithic stopping places.
walking, listening, mapping a thousand year old line.
composing these audiovisual shorts on my phone using:
@lightbeamapps GoVJ
@koalasampler
so wonderful to be tracing this ancient line shortly before equinox.
I cant wait to unpack all the recordings of this adventure into a larger substantial sound work, but it was so great to be able to make these little vignettes each day on the fly using audio and video gathered on my journey.

Mundesley postcards
An afternoon of psychogeography/treasure hunt as part of my pilgrimage in March 2026. It was magical standing in the spots where these postcards were taken, some over a hundred years ago. Mundesley is a place of childhood memories. Still lost in the 1960's, it is the mouth of a tiny river, only a few miles long. I have a small chalet there, my mum and dad's home for 30 years. Layers of nostalgia. Mundesley also looks over the lost realms of Doggerland. I was surprised to discover that the cliff above my chalet has been the subject of many postcards during the years - Mundesley East Cliff, somewhere I and my family have come to think of as Mundesley Top, our own spot, a spot where I recorded my 60th birthday and where I blow a conch on solstices, equinoxes and the like.
The audio was also sampled on the same day around the town.

Buttons
Buttons is a collection of little sound worlds, a series of sonic topographies, each with its own flavour, movement and feeling.
You are invited to travel through these landscapes as a voyage. A Sound Trek.
The collection was composed especially for audio-visual technology to be activated by babies and toddlers using soft buttons.
Each track is distinct yet related to the others and each track begins with a clear percussive sound which can be repeatedly played as an instrument.

Wickhampton Hare
The Wickhampton Hare is part of the numinous medieval paintings on the walls of Wickhampton church. The church sits at the edge of a great marshland, a provisional and wild place from where Amrita found the clay to make this Hare
Also depicted on the church walls are the living and the dead speaking to each other. I interpret this conversation between skeletons and humans as an animistic spell, a circular riddle on the nature of change and transformation:
“as you are now, so once were we,
as we are now, so shall you be”
As the living and dead speak to each other, the Wickhampton Hare leaps out of the scene.
This music was composed (by me and Wickhampton) through sonic alchemy - involving a process of transmuting the letters of the riddle-poem into an aeolean mode over 4 octaves to make this leaping melody-death-life-hare-spell.
